About CRCMD

The Center of Research on  Culture, Media, and Diversity (CRCMD) was established as an academic forum to integrate studies of culture, media, and diversity in a systematic, critical, and applicable manner. The research group is multidisciplinary, bringing together academics from various fields, including communication, design, linguistics, tourism, law, agribusiness, accounting, management, and other social sciences.

The media ecology approach is used to understand the impact of media systems on social structures, communication patterns, and collective consciousness. The dominance of digital platforms, recommendation algorithms, and the datafication of social life form a new “media environment” that requires critical examination.

To create a center for cultural, media, and diversity studies that is superior, has a national defense character, and has an impact on the archipelago.

Our Mission

1. Conducting and developing superior research on culture, media, and diversity with a national defense character;

2. Increasing the quantity and quality of research on culture, media, and diversity that is beneficial for the welfare of society.

3. Organizing downstreaming of research results on culture, media, and diversity based on local wisdom;

4. Organizing good, clean, and accountable governance of research on culture, media, and diversity;

5. Developing the quality of researchers in culture, media, and diversity within UPN Veteran East Java to achieve global competitiveness;

6. Increasing the quantity and quality of research publications on culture, media, and diversity in accredited national journals and indexed international journals.

7. Organizing collaborations and networking on research on culture, media, and diversity with national and international researchers.
